Did you know that the longest-running exhibition of African-American art can be found at the Museum of Science and Industry (MSI)? Since 1970, MSI has hosted the Black Creativity Juried Art Exhibition– a showcase of works from professional and amateur African-American artists from around the country. The exhibition features paintings, drawings, fine art prints, sculpture, mixed-media, ceramics and photography, including youth artists between the ages of 14 and 17. Here’s just a taste of what the exhibition has to offer:
The Juried Art Exhibition is part of the MSI Black Creativity program- a program designed to inspire African-American children to pursue educational opportunities and careers in the fields of science, technology, medicine and engineering.
The Black Creativity Juried Art Exhibition runs through this Sunday, February 19.
